GP Batteries Marketing Middle East, a JV partner of Kingston Holdings, showcased the first Zero Carbon electric motor bike for the Middle East market at a launch event at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
H.E. Hussain Mohamed Al Mahmoudi, Director General of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry said at the Zero Carbon bike launch event, "I want to commend Kingston Holdings for this responsible action in line with the global environmental drive as well as the UAEs environmental ambitions. Products like this bike and GP Batteries which reduce CO2 help the UAE become more competitive and supports our government’s ambitions." The bikes provide clean efficient and reliable urban transportation. The bikes, which are widely used by the police forces in US, UK, Hong Kong, Malaysia, have been demonstrated to the senior officials at the Masdar City Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Police Head quarters and the leading courier company TNT. Powered by Lithium ION Batteries manufactured by GP, it carries a warranty of 10 years. The Bikes eliminates vibration and noise pollution completely. It is also fitted with regenerative breaking system and bidirectional throttle. Limited moving parts in the vehicle reduces maintenance needs. The bike, which comes with aerodynamic shape and fresh modern distinctive looks, was a winner of RO Brady award. It has a capacity of 650 cc in terms of torque and acceleration. The bikes can go 115 km at 100 km speed with a single charge and the charging time is 2-3 hours. GP is leading a revolution in personal transportation and providing customers with a growing range of electric vehicle options from the highway-capable two-wheeled VX-1 Li/Li+ and revolutionary three-wheeled VX-3 Li+, to the around-town VX-2. In addition to the Consumer market, the VX-1 Li and Li+ are being deployed in the Fleet market, specifically Law Enforcement, Security, Military, and Postal applications. Now public safety officers and couriers can move faster, more quietly, and more cost effectively in every shift than conventional internal combustion engine vehicles. The key core technologies are at the core: the patented Regenerative Throttle extends the range and also offers slow-speed reverse for ease of movement, the patented rugged integrated rear-wheel mounted single stage planetary gear drive, a lightweight aircraft-aluminium frame, front and rear Brembo disc brakes, Marzocchi telescopic fork, and Sachs twin shocks. But what makes the new generation vehicles so remarkable is the Lithium battery technology (LiFePO4) which extends the range and offers higher performance. GP also presented its new models: The Super Bike: Performance meets passion in the Super Bike. Through a collaborative relationship with the renowned RoBrady Design team, the Super Bike showcases the scalability and cross-platform functionality of the core technologies, with performance specs that rival I.C. gas-powered sport bikes.
